Me and my aunt went spring cleaning in the attic the other day and found a squeaky object (a squeaker, perhaps? i don't know the actual word). I thought it would be a good sound effect so i recorded it.
Equipment used: edirol r-09. My nephew playing with his toy bus, spending the day playing with it without worries. I sat beside him and started recording.
This is an old toy made of metal. It has a handle on top which turns to produce the sound. It is supposed to play a simple melody but it is broken and only plays one pitch.

Small wind-up toy being wound up and allowed to walk by the mic. The wind-up key is then abused a bit, making a sound not entirely unlike a scratching record (but not much like one, either).
Found this plastic tube while digging in the garden. Apparently part of childs toy. Now the cat enjoys rolling it around. It's soothing like a tuned wind chime. Give a listen.
It's a squeaky dog toy. Recorded with a zoom h1. Neutral background. Another sound from the makers of release the clowns sketch comedy podcast which you can find herehttps://podcasts. Apple. This was a battery-powered train car running in circles on its plastic track. Is the sound pleasant? no. Did i hold my zoom h4n upside-down in the center of the circuit so the engine slowly pans from ear to ear? absolutely.
